Whitewater

SRSR Floats

Whitewater floats with Salmon River Scenic Run take place about 50 miles north of the town of Salmon, Idaho, near the historic town of Shoup.  The best whitewater conditions are typically in June and first half of July.

Our whitewater trips are full day trips and include lunch on the river.

Rapids are Class 2-3, depending on water levels.

The stretch of river that we float for whitewater trips is rich in mining history, and you will see evidence of old mining activity as we float.

Common wildlife along this section includes bighorn sheep, otters, eagles, osprey, mule deer, and sometimes a black bear.

Kids are welcome on these trips.  We recommend they be at least 6 years old.  Trips for the little ones are better later in the summer when the water is warmer and water levels a little lower.
